On behalf of The Wharton School and the Wharton Private Equity & Venture Capital Club, we are delighted to welcome you to the annual Wharton Private Equity & Venture Capital Conference.

After 12 consecutive editions, the conference has successfully consolidated as a unique forum for industry leaders, alumni, faculty, and students to discuss recent trends and emerging issues in the private equity and venture capital industries. The conference is designed to foster education and dynamic interaction among people active in the private equity and venture capital arena. Furthermore, the conference aims to highlight Wharton's multi-disciplinary program and enhance the school's position as a leading source of industry professionals.

In 1891, The Wharton School was established at the University of Pennsylvania as the world's first collegiate school of business. This year, Wharton celebrates its 125th anniversary by continuing its heritage of innovation in an exciting environment that generates the ideas and knowledge that transform global business. This spirit of innovation has also inspired the theme for the 2007 Wharton Private Equity & Venture Capital Conference: Exploring New Frontiers.

Innovation and exploration are becoming a necessity to find superior returns in an industry where the more traveled routes are becoming overcrowded. Along these lines, the conference will provide you with an opportunity to explore new topics and ideas such as the search for differentiation, the increasing size of mega funds, and the investment in new asset classes, new markets, and new technologies. As a student-run organization, the Wharton Private Equity & Venture Capital Club is honored to have such a distinguished group of speakers at the conference.
