Panelist Biographies

Mark R. Patterson
Chairman
MatlinPatterson Asset Management

Mr. Patterson is Chairman of MatlinPatterson Asset Management, which manages two private equity funds: MatlinPatterson Global Opportunities Partners, a $2.2 billion distressed fund, and a $2 billion fund in the process of being raised. He is an Advisory Board member of K Capital Partners, Chairman of Oxford Automotive, Inc. and is on the Board of Resolution Capital Management. From 1994-2002 Mr. Patterson was a Managing Director of CSFB, where he served as Vice Chairman. He also served on CSFB’s Global Operating and Private Equity Investment Committees. Prior to CSFB, Mr. Patterson had 20 years of commercial and investment banking experience at Bankers Trust, Salomon Brothers and Scully Brothers & Foss.

Mr. Patterson holds degrees in law and economics from South Africa’s Stellenbosch University and an MBA with distinction New York University’s Stern School of Business.
