Mr. Lupoff is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager of Schultze Asset Management. Prior to Schultze, he founded tiburon holdings llc; an investment and advisory firm focused on troubled companies, and was previously a Senior Vice President in the Lehman Brothers Distressed Proprietary Group. Mr. Lupoff started in distressed investments as a Partner of famed investor, Martin Whitman of Third Avenue Value Fund. In seven years at MJ Whitman as a Partner, Managing Director and Board Member, Mr. Lupoff was Portfolio Manager of the MJ Whitman Pilot Fish Opportunity Fund, and operated as the trader and manager of all private obligations for the flagship Third Avenue Value Fund. Mr. Lupoff’s career further includes positions in Syndications and Loan Trading at The Bank of New York and Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.

He holds an MBA in finance from Fordham University and earned a BS in economics from Hofstra University.
